SMS Campaign (10DLC) Management

10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) campaigns are required for compliant business SMS messaging in the United States. CrystalQore integrates with QuestBlue to register and manage 10DLC campaigns. This ensures your business messages meet carrier requirements and avoid filtering or blocking.

Overview

10DLC allows businesses to send high-volume SMS from standard 10-digit phone numbers. Campaigns must be registered with carriers. CrystalQore provides:

  • Campaign registration — Create and submit campaigns to QuestBlue
  • Number assignment — Link numbers to campaigns
  • Status monitoring — Track campaign approval and registration status
  • Compliance — Meet US carrier requirements for business messaging

Business SMS in the US typically requires 10DLC registration. Unregistered numbers may be throttled or blocked by carriers. Consumer (P2P) use cases have different requirements.

Assigning Numbers to Campaigns

After creating a campaign, assign phone numbers to it:

  1. Open the campaign in the campaign list or detail view
  2. Add numbers from your SMS number inventory
  3. Save — Numbers are linked to the campaign for carrier routing

Numbers must be assigned to a campaign to send business SMS. Unassigned numbers may not meet carrier requirements.

Campaign Status

Campaigns go through a registration and approval process:

StatusDescription
PendingSubmitted; awaiting carrier review
ApprovedCampaign is active; numbers can send
RejectedRejected by carrier; review feedback and resubmit
SuspendedTemporarily suspended (compliance or carrier action)

Monitor campaign status in the SMS Campaigns list. Address rejected or suspended campaigns promptly to avoid message delivery issues.

Campaign Types

Common campaign types include:

  • Marketing — Promotional messages, offers
  • Customer Care — Support, notifications, account updates
  • Mixed — Combination of marketing and customer care
  • 2FA — Two-factor authentication (often different registration path)

Select the type that best matches your use case. Incorrect type can lead to rejection or filtering.

Compliance and Best Practices

  • Use accurate descriptions — Carriers verify that your stated use case matches actual messages
  • Sample messages must be representative — Do not use misleading examples
  • Keep brand registration current — Brand must be in good standing
  • Monitor opt-out handling — Ensure STOP/UNSUBSCRIBE etc. are handled correctly in your SMS flows
  • Avoid spam — Comply with TCPA and carrier guidelines
