Meeting Controls

During a CrystalQore meeting, you have a set of controls at the bottom of the screen (or in a control bar) to manage your audio, video, screen sharing, and participation.

Microphone (Mute/Unmute)

  • Click the microphone icon to mute or unmute yourself
  • When muted: your icon shows a line through it; participants cannot hear you
  • When unmuted: your audio is broadcast to all participants
  • Use mute when you're not speaking to reduce background noise

Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+M or Cmd+M (Mac) toggles mute in many configurations.

Camera (On/Off)

  • Click the camera icon to turn your video on or off
  • When off: your tile shows a placeholder (avatar or "Camera off") instead of live video
  • When on: your camera feed is visible to all participants
  • Turning the camera off conserves bandwidth and can improve connection quality

Screen Share

  • Click Share screen (or the screen share icon) to share your display
  • Select which screen or window to share (browser may prompt for selection)
  • Your screen replaces or appears alongside your video for other participants
  • Click Stop sharing to end screen share and return to normal video

Only one participant can share a screen at a time. If someone else is sharing, you may need to wait for them to stop before you can share.

Participants List

  • Click the Participants icon to open the participants panel
  • View all current participants
  • See who has joined, who is muted, and who is sharing
  • Hosts may have additional options (e.g., remove participant, mute all) depending on configuration

Connection Quality

During the meeting, a connection quality indicator may be displayed:

  • Good — Green or solid: connection is stable
  • Degraded — Yellow or warning: some packet loss or latency
  • Poor — Red or error: significant issues; consider turning off video or moving closer to the router

If quality is poor, try:

  • Turning off your camera to reduce bandwidth
  • Closing other apps or browser tabs
  • Connecting via Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi
  • Moving to a location with stronger signal

Meeting Duration Timer

A meeting duration timer is often shown (e.g., in the corner or control bar) so you can track how long the meeting has been running.

Leaving the Meeting

  • Click Leave (or the leave/end call button) to exit the meeting
  • You will be removed from the room; the meeting continues for other participants
  • If you're the last person to leave, the meeting typically ends and the room is closed
