Direct Messages
Direct messages (DMs) are private, one-on-one conversations with a team member. Start a conversation, send messages in real time, and see delivery and read status as they happen.
Starting a Conversation
Open Chat — Click Chat in the sidebar or press Ctrl+N to focus the chat interface.
Click the compose button — Click the pencil icon (compose) to start a new conversation.
Select a team member — Choose the person you want to message from the list. You can search by name if your team is large.
Type and send — Type your message in the input field and press Enter (or click Send) to deliver it.
Message Delivery Indicators
CrystalQore shows clear delivery status for each message:
| Indicator | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Sent | Message has been sent from your device |
| Delivered | Message has reached the recipient's device |
| Read | Recipient has viewed the message |
Indicators update in real time as the other person receives and reads your message.
Typing Indicator
When the other person is composing a message, a typing indicator appears (for example, "John is typing..."). It disappears when they send the message or stop typing.
This helps you:
- Avoid sending overlapping messages
- Know when a response is coming
- Have a more natural conversation flow
Reading Messages
Messages from the other person appear in the conversation with their delivery and read status on your side. Your read receipts are shared when you view their messages.
Read receipts can be disabled in Settings if you prefer not to share when you've read a message.
