CrystalQore

Call Pop

Incoming call screen pop that displays caller information. WebRTC and PBX call pop, contact lookup, draggable and minimizable pop-up window.

Call Pop

Call Pop displays caller information in a pop-up window when you receive an incoming call. CrystalQore automatically looks up the caller's number against your contact directory and shows their name, company, and call history — so you know who's calling before you answer.

Community

Call Pop is available on the Community tier and above.

How It Works

When an incoming call arrives:

  1. CrystalQore detects the call (via WebRTC or PBX event)
  2. The caller's phone number is looked up against your contacts
  3. A pop-up window appears with the caller's information
  4. You can answer, decline, or minimize the pop-up

Two Types of Call Pop

CrystalQore has two distinct call pop experiences depending on how the call is received:

WebRTC Call Pop

For browser-based WebRTC calls (audio or video calls initiated from CrystalQore chat or a direct WebRTC dial):

ElementDescription
Caller infoName, avatar, and phone number from your contacts
Answer buttonAccept the call — opens the WebRTC call interface
Decline buttonReject the call
Elapsed timerShows how long the call has been ringing
View ContactQuick link to open the caller's full contact profile

WebRTC Call Pop answers the call directly in your browser — no desk phone required.

PBX Call Pop

For calls routed through your PBX system (your desk phone rings):

ElementDescription
Caller infoName, company, and phone number from contact lookup
Call statusShows the call is ringing on your desk phone
Add to ContactsIf the caller is unknown, quickly add them to your directory
DraggableMove the pop-up anywhere on screen
MinimizableCollapse the pop-up to a small indicator

With PBX Call Pop, you answer the call on your physical desk phone — the pop-up provides context only.

PBX Call Pop requires an active PBX integration (e.g., FusionPBX with FreeSWITCH ESL). Your administrator must configure the PBX connection for Call Pop to detect incoming calls.

Contact Lookup

When a call arrives, CrystalQore resolves the caller by:

  1. Extension match — If the call is from an internal extension, the associated user is shown
  2. Phone number match — The caller's number is searched against all contacts in your directory
  3. Unknown caller — If no match is found, the raw phone number is displayed with an option to Add to Contacts

Contact lookup happens instantly so information is available by the time you answer.

Dragging and Minimizing

Both PBX Call Pop and the connected call overlay can be:

  • Dragged — Click and hold the pop-up header to move it anywhere on screen. Useful if it's covering content you need to see.
  • Minimized — Click the minimize button to collapse the pop-up to a small floating indicator. Click the indicator to expand it again.

Connected Call Overlay

Once you answer a call, the pop-up transitions to a Connected Call Overlay showing:

  • Caller name and number
  • Call duration timer
  • Mute, hold, and end call controls (for WebRTC calls)
  • Minimize/expand toggle

The overlay can be displayed fullscreen or as a compact floating window.

Troubleshooting

Call Pop Doesn't Appear

  • WebRTC: Ensure you're logged into CrystalQore and the browser tab is open
  • PBX: Verify FusionPBX integration is active and your extension is linked to your CrystalQore account
  • Check that browser notifications are allowed (CrystalQore may use desktop notifications as a fallback)

Wrong Caller Information

  • The contact directory may be out of date. Sync contacts or update the phone number for the contact.
  • If using shared contacts, ensure the contact exists in a directory you have access to.

Pop-Up Is Behind Other Windows

  • CrystalQore's Call Pop renders within the application window. Keep the CrystalQore tab visible or use desktop notifications.
  • On the desktop app, Call Pop appears as a system-level notification that overlays other windows.
